How to Configure and Install Windows 11 from a Downloaded Image

Step 1: Prepare Your System

Ensure your USB drive is clean and free from any viruses, as Rufus needs to write the installation files directly to the drive.
Step 2: Download Windows 11 ISO File
Head over to the Microsoft website (windows.com/en-us) and download the ISO file for Windows 11. You can also search for it in your favorite browser or use the shortcut “Windows 11 Download” on the official website.
For this example, let’s assume you’ve downloaded the x86 version of the ISO file. Make sure to choose the correct language and edition that matches your needs.
Step 3: Create a Bootable USB Drive or SD Card
Using Rufus, create a bootable USB drive or SD card from the Windows 11 ISO file. Here’s how:
- Open Rufus on your computer (download it from the official website if you haven’t already).
- Choose the USB drive or SD card as the boot device.
- Select the Windows 11 ISO file as the source file.
- Set the block size to 2048MB, which is the recommended default setting.
- Click “Start” to start the creation process.
Step 4: Configure Rufus Settings
Rufus will now prompt you for some final settings:

Step 6: Install Windows 11
